Test Results

With the availability of phone consultations, there has been some confusion over our Test Results Policy.

It is our policy that all patients are required to return for their test results.

There may be occasional exceptions whereby results can be obtained through the phone, but it depends on each circumstance and it has to be authorized by the doctor. Our reception staff cannot access your records for privacy reasons and they are not trained to comment on test results. It is in your best interest to return for the results so that we can ensure that all tests are completed, examined and explained to you satisfactorily.

Some people believe that they will be contacted only if there is a problem in their tests, however, in rare circumstances results may not be delivered to us or you cannot be contacted due to incorrect contact details. Please ensure that a follow-up appointment is made to obtain your results after you have completed your tests.

Please remember that if a test is worth ordering, it is worth making an effort to find out the test results.

Covid 19 Vaccine Preparation

We invite our patients to view the following website so they can be well prepared for the Covid-19 Vaccine rollout (click on Read More then click on the blue writing).

What should I do before I get vaccinated for COVID-19? | Australian Government Department of Health

Also in preparation for the Covid-19 Vaccine, Eatons Hill Medical Centre will be uploading patient health summaries to our patient's My Health Record (if they have one). If our patients are required to go to another practice or facility to have the vaccine, this will assist other health professionals to safely provide our patients with the vaccine.

If you have any concerns or questions, please ring the practice and our friendly staff will do our best to assist you.

Welcome Josh - Medical Student from UQ

Eatons Hill Medical Centre warmly welcomes a new medical student from the University of Qld. Josh is looking forward to meeting our patients and being involved in their care. Thank you to those patients who are happy to see Josh during his placement.

Consultation Update

Dr Ma and Dr Rakhra (Dr Jack) are available for phone consultations and face to face consultations if suitable.

Please ring the practice (07) 3325 5559 first to speak to a friendly staff member who will assist you in making the appropriate appointment.

We are doing everything to ensure that we keep you safe if you visit the practice.

We are screening every patient who phones or comes to the practice for possible exposure to Coronavirus. Patients who have been exposed or potentially exposed to the Coronavirus, will not enter the practice but be managed by phone consultation.

Every patient and visitor to the practice is required to follow social distancing, to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer on entering and leaving the practice.  While waiting for the doctor, patients may remain in their car, sit on the verandah or sit inside the practice with social distancing.

We are limiting the number of people who can see the doctor to the patient only (with the exception of one other being a child or a carer).

Every chair and hard surface is sprayed regularly. All multi-use items have been removed from the waiting area (eg: magazines).

The internal and external play areas are closed.  We do have dedicated isolation rooms (with windows open).

We encourage all patients to use contactless payment.

The doctor is providing phone consultations for all patients. Please discuss this with our friendly staff when you ring the practice, who will also advise on consultation fees.

Up to Date Covid Information and Testing for Covid

Currently, if you are unwell (eg: fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, vomiting or nausea, diarrhoea, muscle or joint pain or loss of appetite), you are advised to get tested for Covid. As part of our commitment to supporting our patients during Covid, the doctor can provide a telephone or telehealth consultation to those patients who have attended an in-person consult during the last 12 months. However, if you have not seen the doctor in the last 12 months, we will do our best to assist you. Please call the practice on (07) 3325 5559.

If you are unwell and the practice is closed, please refer to the "Appointments" tab and click on "After Hours Arrangements" to find out how to access our after hour doctor services.

Please also click on  "What You Need to Know" (see yellow band above) and this will provide you with the latest Covid information including where testing can be performed.
